Jean-Baptiste Feldmann in France, who has contributed many photos to EarthSky, captured this young moon this week. He wrote at his blog Cielmania:
Viewing the crescent Selene two days after the new moon was a challenge. For several days, in fact, we are swept away by the rain and wind. There has been much talk about the Ruzica and Susanna storms with wind gusts that could reach 160 kilometers per hour and waves of over 10 meters.
Wednesday evening, 10 February, the heavens calmed before the arrival of a new disturbance in the west. I took the opportunity to go hunting in the crescent moon … it was a moment full of serenity after the hustle of the sky these days.
